Dear Friends,

Your hustle starts on Monday. You pour your heart into the business God has provided for you — showing up early, staying late, pouring all you have into the vision. Yet lately, something feels off. The joy you once had is not there anymore. If you’re being honest, you’ve started asking, “Am I still His worker, or am I working for myself?”

This question touches something deeper — a desire not just to do good work, but to stay close to Him. Hustle has its place, but not at the cost of your peace or service for God. He doesn’t want you to take over His guidance.

You were never meant to work by yourself — but only with Him.

“Lydia, how’s your business going?” Pastor Bruno asked after Sunday service.

She sighed, twisting her coffee cup nervously. “It’s growing fast… but I’m exhausted. I keep saying it’s for the Lord, but lately, I feel like I’m chasing numbers, not His will. It’s like I’m managing God’s project without inviting Him to the meetings.”

Pastor Bruno smiled knowingly. “I get it. I used to do that too. Tell me something — if Jesus walked into your office tomorrow, would you recognize His direction in your schedule?”

Lydia paused. “Honestly… maybe not.”

He nodded gently. “Then that’s your sign. It’s not that your hustle is wrong — it’s that your heart’s asking to walk with Him again. Remember, He called you to be His worker, not His replacement.”

That week, Lydia began starting her day differently — one hand on her mug, the other open before God. “Lord,” she prayed, “I’ll move, but You lead.” The deadlines didn’t disappear, but her pressure turned into peace. Her hustle found its rhythm again — the rhythm of grace.

Biblical View

“Your success depends entirely on you.”

“Apart from Me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

“The world teaches self-made effort; Scripture teaches Spirit-led effort”

Biblical Reframing
True hustle isn’t independence — it’s stewardship. You cultivate, God directs. You plant in obedience; He brings the increase. Partnership, not pressure, is the model of Kingdom business.

Daily Reset
At the end of each workday, whisper: “Father, today I worked with You — not for myself. Thank You for guiding my steps.”. This daily surrender keeps your heart aligned with His purpose.

False Belief Re-Check
“If I’m the one doing the work, it must all depend on me.”
Truth: You are responsible to the work, but the result is God’s doing. Partnering with Him lightens the load without lowering the standard.

Relapse Warning Sign
When you start to feel the weight heavier than before — sleepless nights, anxious striving, silent prayers — it may be time to remember who you’re working for. Psalm 37:5 reminds us: “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.”. If peace leaves the process, the hustle may have taken the lead.
